I've just had an e-mail from the company and, due to the costs involved in postage and packing, they can't give the replacement turret free. What they ARE doing is keeping the cost as low as possible which means that it'll be a pretty cheap fix. Now this last part is VERY important: ONLY THE FIRST PRODUCTION OF THE CHAFFEE WENT OUT WITH THE INCORRECT TURRET; ALL PRODUCTION KITS FROM FEBRUARY 1st WENT OUR WITH THE CORRECTED TURRET Hope this helps!

I appreciate that it costs them money to fix, but I resent that it adds a hidden extra cost to me the customer. Now I have to track one down (not everyone will feel the need to stock them!) and pay for the part plus postage. It's the whole A13 Mk.I Cruiser tracks saga all over again - they came out with decent indy-links for all the subsequent versions, but if (like me!) you were fool enough to buy the initial kit at £30 you then had to shell out another £10 + £5 postage to get tracks that would actually fit. Just as with that kit, I wish now that I'd held off on the Chaffee... And to think that for a small-ish outlay to replace these defective parts they could have garnered a ton of good-will. Instead it looks like they are throwing their reputation away for a few pence. Now, I know there are no "perfect" kits, and we all willingly snap up and re-work kits with much bigger flaws, but it galls me when a company (who should know better) release a flawed first run and then an "aftermarket upgrade" almost before the base kit has hit the shelves! It's not like they weren't going to fix the flaw - they quickly altered the second release to deal with it... Tom

Looks like DragonUSA.com cockup on my Chaffee preorder will actually work out to my advantage this time! I got my order confirmation yesterday (along with the Bronco Buffalo) from them....so I should have the corrected turret.

Tom[/quote] Tom I cannot agree as Bronco had no requirement to produce a new turret with a corrected profile, they have produced one for a new kit and included it in the older kit as well as making it available to everyone who wants one. Most companies would not have even bothered with the possible exception of DML and as such I see no reason why the product should be free.

I have just taken this Quote off another site and think they are trying to please. we just offer the CB35069SP revised M-24 turret parts for CB35069 US M-24 charge at cost only! We hope the modellers can understand this just a cost return for packing & plactic material.Please inform the modeller to check their kit turret detail carefully is it the old one? Because our CB35069 production had changed to the newly turret parts already since on 1st Feburary 2012. I think this is the first time somthing like this has been done by a major manufacturer

Out of interest, Steve Zaloga builds the Bronco Chaffee in this months Military Modeling. He said he didn't bother correcting the 1.5mm discrepancy as it its"so minor".
