Bronco and a Big Gun in the East

Bronco has kindly sent us the images of the box art and some details on their soon to be released Russian SU-152 Late-Production. Look inside for details.

Bronco has included some nice details with this release including items such as workable tracks in the form of individual track links that are pinned together which will give nice articulation of the tracks. Areas also worth mentioning are the slide moulded single piece muzzle brake and a partial interior. On the subject of the main gun it can be traversed, elevated, shown in recoil, and has a detailed breach with a number of display options. Here are the kit details.

By the look of the pictures it should be the best 152 out there.The late version should have a great deal of export potential.

I would guess that a JS-series of gun tanks won't be too far behind. This looks very nice, so here's hoping that Bronco got all of the basic hull and suspension dimensions and details right from the start. The SU version doesn't make my heart race, but the thought of a really nice early JS is pretty exciting! I need someting to keep all those German big cats sitting on my shelves in line...

I doubt it. If anything they will put out a KV-1s to follow up on this. Remember it is an SU-152, based on the KV-1s chassis. The ISU series was built on the IS-2 chassis and had a higher casemate with less sharp angles. For the IS series there are two kits worth looking for. The Tamiya JS-2 build into a later production vehicle and the Dragon Orange box IS-2 can be made into a decent early version with some determination.

I guess I was just having one of those mornings where I was reading into things what I wished to see. Still, I suppose that a Bronco KV-series of kits won't be far behind, and with the excellent looking suspension included in this kit, those will hopefully be some great kits. Thanks for setting the record (and me) straight!
