Grey Matter Figures has released an Sd.Kfz.251/11 conversion in resin. Take a look inside for more details.
Grey Matter Figures has not been covered in a while and although I am unsure exactly when this item was released I suspect some members will be interested as it is German conversion. Grey Matter Figures has released another of Jerry Rutman’s patterns of a telephone cable laying Sd.Kfz.251/11.

Early AFV Club 251 releases had finicky fit in the sidewalls front, fender and upper hull. So much so, that it was best to grind off the locators in the hood area and glue the upper hull front without them. I have built several of their early releases, but have not built any of the more recently released ones. I also did not ever hear if they corrected the issue. DML has slightly better fit in this area.

OK, I'm sold. Which kit would be the logical one? The basic 251 went through several versions, but I presume the variants were more or less done on a "base" version?

Taking a closer look at the 251 used as the base for the build in the review pics, I can tell you that's the old Tamiya 251c which dates from the Seventies... Anything'll be better than that old dog. acav out

Bill, And everyone else for that matter! The conversion will work in any kit from DML or AFV as it's a pretty simple conversion. It will also be applicable for the B/C/D versions of the SdKfz251 as I have seen photos of all of them and they are available on google search. These telephone tracks were in the Dv Hq of Panzer or PzGren Div,HQ of Pz Regt or Abt,also in PzArty Regts as well as heavy mortar companies and of course in PzGren Regts. I am sure that I leave out some here as well! I have seen pics of them going from the Riechwehr days up to an abandoned example left behind in LeGlieze by LSSAH in the Ardennes. The kit gives extra wire spools and field phones as well as poles to put the wire in the trees, etc to keep it intact from vehicles and the like. HTH J

The newer Tamiya 251d is not really terrible. It's way better than the first one they did,IE the C model. J
