Trumpeter Bringing the Gvozdika

It seems there is something new coming from Trumpeter, that being another Russian SPG.

A recent listing by Steven’s International shows there another 1/35 scale Russian SPG on the way from Trumpeter, this being the 2S1 Howitzer. This vehicle, also known as the SAU-122, does resemble the PT-76, but is actually a lengthened MT-LB APC. The amphibious SPG mounts a 122mm howitzer that is based on the towed D-30.

According to Steven’s International, this Trumpeter kit is due in May 2013.
