A new White Box from Cyber-Hobby brings us a German flame breathing tank built on the Panzer III chassis.
Cyber-Hobby has announced another Panzer III coming our way, this time one the shoots fire. The Panzer III was a versatile tank for the Germans that was originally destined to be their main battle tank, but relegated to other duties with the success of the Panzer IV. The Sd.Kpfz.141/3 Panzer III (F1) mounted a flame thrower in place of the main gun. I do believe Cyber-Hobby has a little issue with the naming convention, as the vehicle should actually be the Flammpanzer III Ausf.M/Panzer III(F1). The Flammpanzer was converted from the Ausf.M chassis, with 100 units built.

6616 – Sd/Kfz.141/3 Pz.Kpfw.III(F1)

The kit, according to Dragon Models, is slated for a February 2013 release, but I have yet to see it anywhere.

Thanks, Kevin, for sharing that. It's a logical line extension, especially as they already have the Flaming Stugie.

Bill: I'm a bit of a dislectic. For a second or 2, I thought I saw "Flaming STOGIE", instead of "stugie" and wondered just what was going on - maybe something lit up rather more vigorously than expected! But, unlike the "flamm-stugie", I THINK the flammpanzer III FL did see some real action, and not just as a training machine. Anyone know whether the CH kit offers alternative paint-schemes or "known" unit markings for such real field use? Cheers! Bob
