Rinaldi Studio Press has let Armorama know about the second book they have in the works and has provided some information that you will find in this second book “TANKART Vol. 2 WWII Allied Armor”.
Here is the information and pictures as supplied by Rinaldi Studio Press
TANKART Vol. 2 WWII Allied Armor -- There are many "how-to" books in today's world of scale modelling, but none has covered the "why's", as well as, the "how-to"… the artistic approach… until now. In TANKART, a painting and weathering guide book series, the focus is on taking real-life observations of paint and weathering effects and incorporate the best techniques to replicate them. Within this second volume, WWII Allied Armor, the author will go deeper into his thoughts about why of certain steps as it relates to Allied camouflage schemes. To bring these ideas to life requires a spectrum of processes and techniques which are covered in great detail; including the Hairspray Technique and the new Oil Paint Rendering -- plus Pigment Applications and Painting Olive Drab chapters that can be combined in an layered array to tell the story of each model.

The book format is 8.5" x 9.5", 208 pages, softcover on high-quality book paper. There are 5 models featured inside, 4 dedicated technique chapters, plus a special bonus figure modelling chapter by Radek Pituch. Inside features over 500 color photos reproduced in a large format. Whoo hoo, shipping soon! Can't wait, though I realized you're a brave man, tackling "accurate" US olive drab AND Soviet 4B0?! No controversies associated with those. . . Matt

Thanks Jim! I am contemplating my future product portfolio, and honestly for now it will cover vehicles on all sorts - tanks, planes, trains, sci-fi and so on, as we grow and move forward. Figures for me is a bit tricky because I am not very good at them. It will require working with some world-class painters and sculptors and then guide their text and images to fall into the format I've created. A lot of the information that I write about with the armor really defines this series vs. other similar products so I want to maintain that element on everything we produce. It's definitely doable, but will take time and effort to add such a series. But it is on our discussion table for the future. Science Fiction of this style of book would include Ma.K, Gundam, Star Wars, Robotech and so on, stuff in that vein. Obviously, there are a ridiculous amount of subjects to look at, including some very cool stuff from shops like Kallamity and Industrial Mechinka, which I'm keen to illustrate and explore. I doubt I'll have a shortage of subjects to choose from.

I ordered Vol 1 and 2 last Friday - did the combo pack at $5 off each and reduced shipping. The info I got was that they got them from the publisher Monday, 4-15, and should be shipping Thursday or Friday.

Hi Scott, I always keep our website and Facebook updated frequently, forums are usually the last place I post dates on just because it takes a lot of time get through them all. Anything related to our products, it's best to check in those spots first. Yes, the book went in-stock and shipping has commenced...thanks! Best, Mike http://www.facebook.com/RinaldiStudio

So my pre-order will be hand delivered by cherubs at my car today? Kidding, I think. Matt

Actually, we use a new company that utilizes trained local animals for swift cross-country delivery, all very humane of course. In your case, take caution with the boars, they can be a bit nasty with the whole signature on delivery sort of thing... Best, Mike LINK

Coincidentally, I have an antique boar spear in storage in the attic. The boar will give up the goods or it will provide a tasty meal while I read the book. . . Can't wait for the book! Matt
