In from a company we don’t hear much from, Best Value Models, are two new 1/35 scale AFV’s from Chili.
Best Value Models, who are distributed through Azimut Productions, has announced two new kits that are something different. Based on the MOWAG 6x6 under license, Cardoen of Chili produced these vehicles to meet the Chilean Army requirements. Unfortunately I don’t have a lot details on the vehicles themselves or the kits.

BVM35094 – MOWAG 6x6 Ramta Chili
BVM35095 – MOWAG 6x6 w/AML 90 Turret

For more information on the kits, I suggest contact Azimut Productions

The look nice enough. They also appear to be resin.

Best Value offerings usually combine other manufacturers kits with some added resin parts. I guess these two are based on Italeri LAV-25 kit. H.P.

As stated by Frenchy BVM kits are a mix of plastic parts from different companies (Italeri, Revell ...) and resin /PE ones from Azimut. If my memory serves the Chilean AA vehicle has been issued quite a while ago. The novelty in this "new" kit could be the donor kit being a Trumpeter AVGP chassis which will avoid cutting a LAV chassis like in the original series of Movag 6x6 BVM models (Grizzly, Cougar and Husky). Looks like they're using italeri/revell chassis as donor, which is good in the sense it's easier to adapt to any of the chilean versions than the original Trumpeter's Lav series. Now, if they're using the Trumpeter's Cougar, will be good for the one with the TCM 20 AA turret or the mortar carrier. If they're using the Grizzly, will be good for any other APC based version used by the Chilean Army. One last tip, the second photo shows a version with a 90mm turret that was only a prototype, built by Cardoen in late 80's and never adopted. The first pic shows an AA vehicle that was pressed into service, worked in pairs with another Mowag 6x6 carrying an Elta air search target radar. If my memory serves me well, they were like 20 vehicles of this type in service, by now all retired. Cheers Klaus
