Blackdog when they announced their Snatch Land Rover, received a muted cheer from the peanut gallery. However a short E-mail from me about adding resin wheels and comments from all over the web has resulted in a much meaner looking Snatch Land Rover.
When Blackdog revisit a subject they really do make the most of it. The changes to the Snatch Land Rover from last month are not hard to spot; how much of the original kit can you spot? I think there will be some very loud cheers this time around and deservedly so.

Very cool looking conversion set.. I'll definitely get one when it's released. I assume this goes with HB's soft top Land Rover kit? Hisham

Looking at how little of the original kit remains I suspect any of the HobbyBoss Land Rover Defender kits will do.

After reading the blog about the previous Blackdog Snatch a lot of people said that there were many mistakes in the conversion kit. I'm no expert on this particular vehicle so have the problems been rectified? Is this now an accurate model of a Snatch Land Rover? Joe.

I cheered when the original version was released as it depicted the NI patrol spec and I bought it- its a lovely kit and it goes with the WMIK Hobbyboss kit- as far as I can tell from looking in the box pretty much the only thing from the HB kit that is left intact is the running gear and chassis plus some of the front fenders and hood. The old version of the kit had no wheels but even this one doesn't have the correct tyres for NI versions, as far as I remember they were a different pattern. This version is what the Snatch looked like in Iraq.

Original kits for this brand but quality of parts is approximative and instructions not always clear. For this kit, No pins or measures to positioning seats for example. No decals for registration plate and we can't used the ones from the Hobbyboss kit, they are not good for a Snatch. Wrong wheels and harness for front seats while this must be a three points belt.

Not 100% sure but I'll think you'll find that this is a later Snatch Vixen and shouldn't have the bull bar or spare wheel on the front. They also generally have the WMIK-style radiator grille rather than the slatted option in the Wolf kit. Most Snatches fitted with the bull bar (even in Iraq and Afghanistan) used the original steel hub wheels. This seems to be typical of Black Dog - mixing variants in a single box without making it clear what goes on which model (their WMIK set is the same - a mongrel WMIK variant that includes features from different versions). Thank you John for your comments I haven't noticed differences on radiator grille between early and late snatch. I CHOOSE TO make an early one without belly armour without jerricans holder, and this type of wheels:
