Dragon Models are set to release a new tool 1/35 scale MBT 70 (KPz 70).
Slated for release in March 2014, this new release from Dragon Models provides a detailed kit of this interesting and rather underrepresented tank. The press release lists the kits features:

◾Turrel possesses irregular shape w/appropriate cast texture as per original
◾Newly designed MBT-70 (Kpz.70) rendered w/appropriate details
◾Driver’s rotating cupola includes transparent parts
◾Smoke grenade launchers w/well-defined detail
◾Missile transmitter cover can be assembled open/closed
◾Commander’s night sight and panoramic sight and panoramic sight include clear-plastic parts
◾Newly designed one-piece slide-molded upper and lower hulls replicate the originals
◾Cupola and gunner’s hatch cam be assembled open/closed
◾20mm auto cannon can be posed at different angles
◾152mm XM-150E5 gun rendered w/correct detail
◾Accurate antennas and stowage rack presented
◾Engine deck presented w/subtle detail
◾Gun travel lock can be posed raised or lowered
◾Headlights have crisp detail
◾Rear hull and engine grill are finely detailed
◾Detail on underside of turret bustle fully represented
◾Sprockets and road wheels assembled from multiple parts
◾Detailed one-piece DS tracks

Built as part of the the joint US-German MBT-70 main battle tank program, The type contained many advanced features and fourteen prototypes were assembled. However, due to the program running significantly over budget, the project was cancelled in the early 1970's.

Has it been established if you can build a German OR a US version with this kit? I remember the discussion but I cannot remember what was decided.

I can only apologise if this upsets you. Occasionally we do publish duplicate news stories with so many new releases to deal with. Since the initial announcement as you can see there is far more information and images available and a different release date. I for one am looking forward to this kit and it seems other people are too.

I am in for sure, but I hope that there mounting systems and directions are better than the m48 for the bogey wheels to me the worst kit I have ever done, and I have built over a hundred armour kits and have shelved my m48 for now.
