There is little doubt (apart from a few doubters) that DML has now established itself as the market leader in 1/35th scale armor. However, an equally significant change has been taking place in their 1/72nd scale range in both subjects and the innovative features that are being offered. These are the new releases getting listed for release in July 2006...
Four New 1/72nd scale armor kits are getting listed for release in July 2006. Two models in particular call the attention - the second M4 and a new Tiger 1..

The new German tanks are making my eyes gloss over (many variants of the same basic vehicle done well enough by multiple manufacturers). The Sherman really piques my curiousity. Which variant of M4A1 could it be? Our only choices of the M4A1 in 1:72 scale has been the ancient Ertl/Italeri M4A1(75) and the fairly bad Revell/Monogram/Matchbox M4A1(76). Neither one is an early M4A1. The only one we had was the Fujimi/ex-Nitto 1:76 scale one. Personally, I'd prefer the early M4A1(75) as used in D-Day (62 years ago today) over the Battle of the Bulge late M4A1(76).

Rob, it's the M4a1(75) - the M4a1(76) is getting listed as a future release...

LOL!! I see that Dragon has made a correction by announcing kit #7273 as the 1/72 M4A1(75) Normandy,. When they originally announced kit #7273 back on January 28th, it was listed as a M4A3 Normandy. The 2006 catalog listed it this way as well. It looks like they paid attention to the emails and pm's on the Mighty Dragon Fan Club that were sent to them regarding this mistake. Glad to see that Dragon is actually listening to Allied modelers. Chris "toadman" Hughes Toadman's Tank Pictures
