A new release from Italeri has a landing craft full of figures, a BMP, and a new sign set to mark the way.
Italeri has announced the release of a LCVP in 1/35 scale that includes 25 multi-pose infantry and three crew members. The kit is stated to be new molds and should provide a lot of practise for doing figures. The BMP is also slated for release too with markings for three vehicles. Also announced is a new sign set that will help with getting your dioramas going in the right direction.

6524 - LCVP with U.S. INFANTRY
6520 - BMP 1
6527 - ROAD SIGNS II

I guess so The picture below is not the clearest around but the parts layout on the sprues appears to be the same... On a side note there's a typo on one of the German signs - the one on the bottom left corner of the picture ("Acthung" instead of "Achtung" ). H.P.
Confirmed - I have that kit - opened it and compared the sprue and yes they are the same. Cheers

I tried comparing the sprues of the so-called new LCVP against those of the original LCVP on Italeri's website, and unless I'm missing something, the boat looks to be the exact same. The figures are 100% new, but quite up to today's standards!

Having had a WONDERFUL tour of the D-Day beaches (and here) last year with my son, I can't wait for the Higgins Boat!

I meant to say that the figures are NOT quite up to today's standards!

GREAT!!! At least SOMEBODY is finally showing some recognition for all those brave young G.I.s that stormed ashore on that fateful 6th of June. There have been 1/35 "D-Day" figures before, but none have ever been rendered to depict the men just minutes before landing on French soil... I agree that the figures are not quite up to today's latest standards, but they're easy to "spruce-up" with HORNET or some ancient, no longer produced WARRIORS' heads, (BOY, Do I MISS THEM!!!) plus a few other pieces here and there. I like DRAGON's Slide-Molded "Gen 2" weapons sets for these guys... I'd have also liked to see the G.I.s molded in kneeling and crouching poses, as they would have been trying to avoid the defending Germans' shrapnel and machine gun bullets- Standing erect would have been asking for a bullet or a piece of shrapnel in the brain... The Higgins boat is, of course, the older ITALERI LCVP kit, which still builds up into a very nice model in itself, and is improved with an EDUARD PE set. Let's see a show of hands for kits of similar British landing craft, along with figures of our British, Canadian and Commonwealth friends!!!

Uh, am I missing something? This IS the LCVP....

Uh, am I missing something? This IS the LCVP....
Yes, but this "new" kit includes 30 figures... The original LCVP only contained the coxswain and two machine gunners...
