Or whatever it was. I still haven't seen any definitive data as to whether it was the hull or the turret. Some speculation based upon questionable data, yes, but nothing definitive. KL

Kurt, Have you seen Panzer Serra's build? He modified the turret according to photo refs, the Dragon turret top looks wrong? http://panzerserra.blogspot.fr/search/label/M6A1%20American%20Heavy%20Tank Cheers, Christophe

Yeah, I saw that he moved the turret and reshaped it but it still leaves the question as to what exactly is wrong. Are the hull hatches the right size? Are they in the correct locations? Is the turret in the correct location? Is the turret the correct size? Is there some combination of problems? I don't have much faith in photo comparisons beyond general, qualitative, impressions. I posted some dimensions from the cast hull drawing that could've been used to get an idea on the hull but no one ever came back with kit dimensions, at least that I saw. There was also a thread where somebody used photocopied and scaled drawings of uncertain accuracy and based measurements off out-and-out wrong dimensions. Perhaps the less said on that the better . . . KL

Isn't the newness of the model a cast _hull_ and not a cast _turret_? They all had cast turrets.

Yaaaaawn, at least the guy on panzerserra has produced a reasonable model and shown some modelling skills and doesn't rely on opening the box top pouring in glue shaking the box and hey presto out comes a perfect replica.

That's true and good for him. In my case (as well as others) I have no problem in reworking a kit to suit my standards, but I'd like to know if it's a matter of buying a new turret, changing the driver's hatches, or rebuilding the entire hull and turret from scratch before I get involved. KL

Hmm Commanders Models can do a M6A2E1 converison now, just need to sell their T29 turret to do it!

Hi Scott, That's a completely different turret. All we have is the gun. Jon

Good idea though, I'd buy such a conversion for sure. Cheers, Christophe
