Yeah those hats are terrible and I don't think much of the helmets either! The grouping however is great will make for a great little dio, and a great acompanment for the gurkha in the dragon monte casino set.

It would also be nice to see some Chindits, maybe MB could oblige there with some troops and pack animals! Al

You could use the extra Dragon Gurkha heads which would be an improvement, but the figs in the Dragon set are all wearing typical European uniforms and gear, not tropical, although these could be used in North Africa. Pity they're not as well sculpted as ICM's WWl series of figures.

I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed with them. While it's a nice O group and they're nicely done I'd hoped with them being Gurkhas they'd be dynamic. Something on the lines of attacking with a drawn kukri or firing a Bren from the hip. The sort of thing Gurkhas are known for doing and winning a VC to boot. For such aggressive troops this is just a bit...what's the word...boring.

As a BIG fan of US/ALLIED AFVs, Soft-Skins and Figures, this set is certainly welcome as far as I'm concerned. I wholeheartedly AGREE as to the hats and helmets. Although there are numerous aftermarket suppliers that produce better British helmets, IMO, ICM COULD have done a better job, and saved us all a bit of money by not having to buy said helmets. I'm not aware of any A/M Gurkha hats, though... Boring positions? Perhaps. But anyway, it's a good start. Would have been nice to see these figures kitted out in CBI Theatre uniforms...

Hm, they seem to be lacking most of the P37 equipment - no canteens, no ammo pouches, no bayonets, no entrenching tools.

Be mindful the Nepalese/ Gurka fur felt hat is not 'bashed' as much as the Aussie or even Chindit slouch hats......they are somewhat rounded, to me the Gurkha (not the officer) is not a bad resemblance. It just doesn't look to be positioned right on his head as the puggaree appears scue-if...!
