Amidst all the excitement at the recent Tokyo Hobby Show, a series of new releases passed almost unnoticed - the 1/35th Scale Armor/Figure releases from the Japanese manufacturer Fine Molds. Now, with the assistance of the on-line retailer (and site sponsor) HLJ (HobbyLink Japan), we are able to bring details and images of these very interesting releases.
Many comments in the wish-lists of modellers include a subject which is, in general, ignored by the larger manufacturers - Japanese Armor. However, for those who have a 'Yen' for something very different, the Japanese manufacturer Fine Molds have a growing range of AFVs, Figures and Artillery pieces in 1/35th scale:
N.B. The AFVs and Figures are injection-molded plastic, the Artillery pieces are cast in white-metal...
Fine-Molds AFV Kits
Type 97 Chi-Ha 'Shin-Hoto' medium tank.
Type 3 Ho-Ni III 75mm SPG.
Type 97 Chi-Ha 'Shin-Hoto' (new turret)
Fine-Molds Figure Kits
IJA tank crewmen # 1
IJA tank crewmen # 2
Fine-Molds Artillery (White Metal)
IJA Type 1 47mm Anti-Tank Gun (Crew NOT Included)
IJA Type 94 37mm Anti-Tank Gun
A word about prices... The AFV kits will be retailing (from HLJ) for around $32 each, the figures around $10 per set. I have no information as to the price of the artillery...
Finally, Armorama would like to express its thanks to HobbyLink Japan for their help in compiling this report. To see more images and details from the Tokyo Show, HLJ have published a series of reports which can be accessed from here: HobbyLink Japan Website Link
