Dragon Models has released news of a new Sd.Kfz.234/4 mit 7.5cm L/48 in the works. I have to admit that I do like the look of this family of vehicles.
With Dragon Models announcing a Sd.Kfz.234/4 mit 7.5cm L/48 I cannot help but feel an empty feeling in my wallet. I liked the offering that Tamiya released many moons ago and with Dragon Models slowly releasing the whole family I am a happy man. The only complaint I have at this time is that Dragon Models needs to bring back Ron V’s great artwork to their boxes.

Give it a break, guys. Every time DML announces a new kit, it's the same lame litany of complaints. Either this is your type of kit, or it isn't, but enough of the griping, sheesh!

And to think... If one manufacturer could please the masses?

Every time DML announces a new kit, it's the same lame kit they've done a thousand times before...

Funny, from my accounting this is only the fourth 234/4 they've released, and the first with this gun.

You're right about the artwork. It makes the kit look crap and not worth buying. With Rons artwork it makes the box look appealing and interesting irrespective of what's in the box. It's like figures I bought the Ambush ones cheap. Not Rons artwork and the figures are crap. Nicely moulded but crap. Daft poses and anatomically wrong. Not a very inspiring kit and not one I'll be buying at their overinflated prices.

I actually quite like the box art for this kit - oh well. Yes, they go by the name of Meng.

I don't think I'm going to persuade you, but the absurdity of that statement is pretty obvious. Dragon puts out lots of kits, some of them different, others re-using the molds from other kits. It's a smart business decision, and maybe why they are still going while several other manufacturers are now nipples-up.

What I really like about Ron's work is that the artwork can be used as a guide for adding colour variation. This attribute is most obvious when looking at his figure artwork as the colour variations are very good as regards light and shadow, and I do think Dragon should utilise him again rather than use what I believe are computer generated images.

Yes I too would like the RV boxarts back on their German releases now that Dragon have already brought it back for Black Label [it's probably the best thing about the line even]
