Leopard Workshop has informed Armorama of 6 new barrels they have released for a host of models by various manufacturers. Leopard Workshop is a one stop shop for the Leopard addicted fans in the modelling community.
The six new barrel sets that are ready are for the Leopard 2A4, 2A5/2A6 and Leopard 1.
LW017M and LW017R Leopard 2A4 Barrel are designed to be a straight replacement and fit for the Meng Model offering and also the most recent Revell kits. There are 7 resin parts to this offering and corrects the Revell kit which has an extraneous ring in front of the fume extractor, which is also too short and the Meng Model has an extractor that is too skinny and too short and the dust jacket is the wrong proportion.
LW018R and LW018M Leopard 2A5/2A6 Barrel are designed to be a straight fit onto the Tamiya or the most recent Revell kits. The bases are designed to slot straight into the chosen kit - no extra work needed. Alternative length L/44 and L/55 barrels (in brass) in each kit and three alternative fume extractors are provided with different textures plus alternative collimators.
LW019AC - Leopard 1 L7 Gun Barrel 'Australian/Canadian Thermal Sleeve' is designed for any Italeri, Revell, Meng or Takom Leopard 1. This offering features a turned aluminium barrel - with rifling - plus 8-part resin sleeve, fume extractor and optional collimator/counterweight. The sleeve is broken into separate elements to give you more flexibility. This sleeve was used by the Australians (AS1) and Canadians (C1 and C2). The clips are much simpler than the more familiar 'German' version. The collimator was only used on the Canadian C2.
The more familiar barrel with the European/German sleeve will be available soon.
LW019N - Leopard 1 L7 Gun Barrel 'Naked Sleeve' is for any Italeri, Revell, Meng or Takom Leopard 1. This features a turned aluminium barrel with rifling plus resin counterweight and fume extractor. This is the basic 105 mm L7 gun used on all early production Leopard 1s - and indeed on many other types of tank such as Centurion, M60, etc.
