Meng Models has announced their next model release in their Armour lines in the form of a Chinese PLZ05 155mm Self-propelled Howitzer in 1/35th scale.
This latest model from Meng Model looks to have the usual good mix of parts they are becoming famous for. A look of the kit contents shows a good mix of media from the standard plastic sprues in grey and clear and at least a couple of photo etched frets for good measure. The tracks are made using individual track links that are workable according to the box top. Another plus is that it also features workable torsion bar suspension.

What's so wrong about a chinese company taking aim on the local market? According to China's Population and national pride it's an economically reasonable act. Besides that, what did people really want? Another Königstiger, Sherman or T-34? At least for me PLZ05 is really something different and interesting...

I agree, personally I was hoping for the Mark V-IX cruiser tanks but they at least tried to do something new and original. Looks more like a resin cast barrel to me.

I don't think anyone has said Meng was "wrong" to release this kit. All I've seen were people saying they weren't interested in buying one. KL

Hey, I'm not Chinese, but I like big-assed guns and Meng kits! Looks like a winner to me.

I cannot get enough of this PLA stuff. All power to you Meng this is a must buy for me. Next, how about a PLA version of the Smersh.

Poly Caps are very tight on this kit and the barrel will stay where you position it. Tony lee
