37021 1/35 U.S. Self-Propelled Gun M107 (Vietnam War)

MSRP: $54.00

This model takes the 1988 Italeri classic model of the M107 and brings it into the modern era. The kit includes new and updated parts from the Italian maker, plus Tamiya figures, accessory parts, decals and instruction manual, all packaged in a new Tamiya box!
The M107 story starts with its development from 1956; this self-propelled gun had a compact vehicle base and elongated 175mm-caliber gun barrel that gave it an impressive maximum range of 32km. Some 524 were produced between 1965 and 1980, notably serving in the Vietnam War.

• The form of the M107 is accurately depicted by the model. Molding has been improved to reduce flash and sink marks, and provide more secure parts fit.
• Previously missing/simplified parts are recreated, including jerry can racks, main gun hydraulics pipes and connections, plus bolts and other details.
• 3 Tamiya figures included– 1 seated - in realistic pose, helmet, M16 rifle, M60 machine gun and folded bed parts, and manual.
• 2 Vietnam War marking options are provided with Tamiya decals.

32587 1/48 British 7ton Armored Car Mk.IV
Availability: January 2016
MSRP: $TBA
This is a model of the Britisht Mk.IV 7ton armored car in 1/48 scale. Across all of its marques, this vehicle was one of the most prolifically produced during WWII with 3,600 produced. With a 72km/h top speed and 400km range, its mobility and versatility were highly welcome to British and Commonwealth forces, who employed it for recon work and even as a command car. The Mk.IV was upgraded with a 37mm cannon, and had space for a crew of 3. It saw extensive service in both North Africa and the European theater.

Specifications:
• 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 95mm, width: 48mm.
• The model concisely recreates the form of the 7ton armored car with its distinctive sloped armor, plus a realistic depiction of the 4WD suspension and underside.
• Mk.IV-specific features such as the 37mm gun and right side-mounted spare wheel are captured with great detail.
• Turret commander's hatch can be depicted in open or closed position.
• The kit includes a commander torso figure, plus decals to depict a Polish Armored Division vehicle.

35348 1/35 Russian Self-Propelled Gun SU-76M
Availability: February 2016
MSRP: $TBA
In many ways Soviet Russia was under-prepared for the Axis invasion of June 1941. One telling deficiency was in self-propelled guns that could take on German armor. This remained unaddressed right through the autumn of 1942, when the blueprints for the SU-76 self-propelled gun were finally laid down. The SU-76 eventually became the SU-76M, a vehicle that would become the second-most produced Russian armored vehicle in WWII after the T-34. The SU-76M used a ZiS-3 76.2mm gun variant, and could vanquish most types of German tank.
It featured a hair-raising open-topped fighting compartment that, while it allowed better communication and visibility on the battlefield, left its crew poorly protected from shrapnel and the harsh climate. Nonetheless, it proved excellent on poor surfaces, where - unlike tanks - it could keep up with infantry in a vital support role.
The Tamiya model faithfully captures all of the fine details of this WWII offensive weapon with ALL NEW tooling and research.

Specifications
• Newly-tooled 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 146mm, width: 78mm.
• The distinctive SU-76M form with open fighting compartment is accurately captured.
• Interior details such as the fighting compartment bulkhead and internal armor are authentically depicted.
• 76.2mm gun features parts recreating recoil mechanism, recuperator, operation handles and more, for a highly detailed finish.
• Track top sections are constructed using the aid of a kit-included jig.
• Parts are included to recreate 2 shell types.
• Includes 2 marking options and 3 figures.

Been along time coming, i think I will get one and build it as a Royal Artillery gun. Those figures are almost as old as I am.

it looks like they are doing the same as what they did before with italeri's M109. I will wait and see what changes they make to the actual artillery piece before I buy it. Incidentally were there any changes to the M109 kit when tamiya released it?

They added a couple items such as the over flow tube off the radiator, a grill for the exhaust and maybe a couple others that I can't remember right now. The rest of the "updates" were just a couple sprues out of other Tamiya kits for crew and gear.

with a barrel that long and diameter that big around.. I would bet there is a length of brass or aluminum rod or tube that would sit inside the barrel fine to prevent warpage maybe..or maybe a viagra in the breech.

I've been waiting for this one for years! I would think the aftermarket barrel makers are salivating to make this barrel! It will be heavy....will the kit need ballast anywhere? Just kidding... I'd also like to have a stack of brass 175mm projectiles for my diorama! I hope it has US, Israeli, and NATO decal options? Hoping Tamiya reads this and adds them! If this is a Vietnam War kit we need new figures with flak vests and jungle fatigues. The pickle suits just look too Cold War Germany. Great news!

afv club used to do artillery ammo. I'm sure you can get it on eBay[/quote] The AFV Club set has 155mm and 203mm (8 inch) rounds. However, there is an old Verlinden ammo set with the 175mm projectiles. I've also seen 3D printed 175mm projectiles on Shapeways.

Barrel Depot makes a metal barrel for the M107, look for item #35046.

The problem is you simply cannot find any Cold War Germany figures. The M577 set is the only one I'm aware of that's even remotely close. I'd LOVE to have someone direct me to somewhere that has LOTS of Cold War Germany US Figures in 1/35.
