Balaton Modell is working on a new truck, the IFA W50 at 1/35 scale. A cold war vehicle that was produced in the former German Democratic Republic.
The IFA W50 was a truck built in East Germany between 1965 and 1990. With a cargo capacity of 4 ton., more than half a million vehicles were built.
There were some 60 variants, like tippers, box, flatbed, military, fire, trunk, etc. It was exported to more than 40 countries in East Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.
The kit features the standard cabin with 2 doors and what looks like a LAK II body.
