We introduce the first type of products from VMS, nine different pigment binders including a reversible one that allows to go back after it dries.
VMS Pigment Expert binders are designed to create situational weathering products on the go.

By mixing with pigments you can create your own weathering liquids which can be then used to paint, create spatter, streaking, washes and other effects. Also by mixing with textured pigments one creates a weathering paste, which can be applied to create dry and fresh mud deposits.

Depending on which binders are used, a modeller can decide the following properties of his liquids and pastes:
  • Reversibility allowing to choose binders that can be brought to life/reversed or not
  • Open time, preparing a mix liquids that are dry to touch in several minutes after application or live up to 9 hours ("live" meaning pigment looks dry but can be moved around and adjusted within those 9 hours)
  • Finish of the liquid or paste, from matt to high gloss

Whole product line includes 9 binder types and variants organised into three families (coded by label colour). The families are as follows:
  • Fast drying and curing but fully reversible ENML 2.0 binders (violet label) also with three variants for matt, satin and high gloss weathering liquids and pastes.
  • Fast drying but slow curing, long open time ALKYD binders (yellow label) with three variants for formulating matt, satin and high gloss weathering liquids and pastes.
  • ACRYLIC binders/resins (green label) with classic high viscosity “structuring” resin for immediate high gloss effects, low viscosity easily applied “finishing” resin for high gloss accents and a novelty an acrylic disperser –an agent that allows you to easily disperse dry pigments within thick acrylic resins without clumping.

In short, binder type (label colour) indicates how the resulting liquid or paste behaves (open time, reversibility) while the variant of a given type decides the finish which can be matt, satin and high gloss.

Why not just use pigments mixed with Future Floor Wax and spray it...........Same thing and not having to buy anything new. Give it a "flat" coat and you have a great dusty finish.

Why not?!....your way of think is right but if some body is interested to buy some kind of product...why not?...is always good have a bigger choice, also same of your product can be made easily at home for a fraction of the cost, why you make them and same people buy them?...like the cubblestone road for example...

* Because Future is not available where I live * Because I have little time and it takes longer to use two products instead of one * Because I trust modelling companies and do not want to risk my model with products that may or may not work fine * Because I am new at modelling and it's easier to use one specific product than experimenting with two or more We tend to think that everyone sees the (modelling) world through our eyes and experience... and often this is not true.

Ok, good points all. I was just expressing my personal "modeler" opinion not as a manufacturer. Thanks for the comments, very constructive and welcomed.
