Armoured Brigade Models is a Canadian company who do a considerable number of (Resin) updates for vehicles based on the M3/M4 Hull. Particulary notable are their M4 updates. Now, the company has announced two VERY significant update/conversion sets - to build an accurate M3 Grant/Lee in Commonwealth service:
Sid Arnold, the owner of Armoured Brigade Models, has just sent us details of TWO very complete update sets to convert the Academy Lee into a Grant or Lee in British service. The latter may seem a touch strange, but bearing in mind the 'issues' with the Academy kit, it should become fairly obvious!
The two NEW releases from the company are:
ABM014 - British M3 Grant Delux Conversion Set U.S.$70.00
Resin 1/35 conversion set (149 parts) for Academy M3 Lee. Includes replacement 37mm gun turret & commander's cupola, 37mm gun mantlet, , correctly sized drivers visor and fighting compartment visors, drivers periscope, replacement canvas covered 75mm gun sponson, flimsy can rack, fuel filling funnel, correctly sized hull stowage boxes, partial engine compartment module, early style air cleaners, revised lower hull rear plate, revised engine deck plate, revised front headlights & rear taillights, early/late style sirens, 30 cal. MG stowage brackets, revised tools, Karaya soft copper tow cable, complete replacement suspension system, complete Type A fender system, fender stowage brackets and many other fittings. Suitable for replicating WW2 British M3 Grants typical of the North African campaign.
ABM015 - British M3 Lee Basic Conversion Set U.S.$30.00
Resin 1/35 conversion set (51 parts) for Academy M3 Lee. Includes replacement 37mm gun turret & commanders cupola, corrected 37mm gun mantlet, correctly sized hull stowage boxes, correctly sized drivers visor and fighting compartment visors, drivers periscope, replacement canvas covered 75mm gun sponson, flimsy can rack, fuel filling funnel, complete Type A fender system, and fender stowage brackets. Suitable for replicating WW2 British M3 Grants typical of the North African campaign.
