And as for pretty cover art , I have also fallen for pretty book covers and sweet smiles. You live and learn. But I am too stupid to give up.

Greetings Tat, "Never say never" or "Nothing is imposible..." but we'll have to wait a bit and see. Due to some unavoidable physical/health issues I have sadly had to mostly back off from the modelling scene for going on the past year. While I have seen progress and improvement in my situation, I feel it is a bit early to commit to a "MNC III". Perhaps sometime in the new year we can have another go and this time see if the group can't build all 28 original 1/76 kits ,only this time including the two that weren't built, the LRDG Chevrolet and Jeep (PK-173) and the Diamond ‘T’ Prime Mover (PK-174) the first time. [/quote] Seems to me that anything that could get younger folks into the hobby would be good, by price/simplicity/whatever. I'll wager most of us are in our 40's/50's/+, and are not so enamored by video games and phone apps....just saying...

I'm not denying anyone the kit, I'm just saying "waxing nostalgic" for inferior kits is a waste of time, money and blog space. I built kits back then that were so-so, and I've even, on occasion, gone back and built them again (with some extra work), but to go on about how wonderful they are is silly. Neophytes can cut their teeth on these kits by all means, but those of us with more kits under their belts than hair on their heads realize their shortcomings and do that service by pointing them out. And you have to admit that the photo of the 11 with the broken track run was sheer amateur hour!

While certainly not everyone's cup of tea, older modellers may like them for nostalgic reasons, and they may attract younger modellers to enter the hobby. Much like the Italeri 1/35 WOT boxings anmd 1/56 releases, they may not be the most accurate but they do give revenue flow to the companies to release other, more sophisticated items...hopefully... At any rate it's not "a waste" to post about it..if you are not interested you can see the thread title and simply move on instead of leaving asanine comments.
