The new model from Resicast is a Simplex 20HP rail tractor, that should be ready by mid January.
Built by British company Motor Rail, the Simplex 20HP was a tractor used during the WWI in the War Department Light Railways, a system of narrow gauge trench railways.
It provided a flexible and reliable method of supplying the front lines, using small tractors like this to transport ammunition, timbers, etc.
The Simplex 20HP was built according to the War Department specifications in 1916, which were basically a 600 mm gauge locomotive, with no more than 1 ton of axle load per axle, and capable of hauling up to 15 tons at 8 km/h.
The kit includes some photoetch parts and the hood can be left open to show the engine. D & P wagons should follow soon as well.
