Hot off the heels of its previous T-54 announcement, MiniArt follows up with the T-54-2 variant. Here we see sprue shots, CAD renditions, and other details of the kit-in-process.
The Soviet T-54 main battle tank was introduced just after the end of World War II. Entering full production in 1947 it became the primary tank of the Soviet Army, Warsaw Pact armies, as well as other countries, seeing action in many of the world's armed conflicts during the late 20th century.
The T-54-2 variant was introduced in 1949. Compared with the previous model, it had a revised turret which featured flattened side facings, a rear overhang and a dome-shaped roof. Wider tracks were installed as well as an improved transmission system. The machine guns were relocated at the bow and managed by the driver.
