Coming our way from Capricorn Publications is a new book focused on the Morris 10Hp and Standard 12Hp.
“Tilly”, derived from the word “Utility”, was the nickname given to a number of WWII British military vehicles – Austin, Hillman, Morris, and Standard. Capricorn Publications’ upcoming volume, Army Wheels in Detail 17 (AW 17) puts on the spotlight two such vehicles built by the firms Morris and Standard.

AW 17 Truck 4x2 Light Utility features period and contemporary photos, detailed drawings, and plates showing color / camouflage schemes. The book will be available for sale by the end of March 2017.

Note the incorrect colour profiles. The RAF never used blue/grey during the war years. All the services used the same camouflage instructions. This is something that continually happens thanks to vehicle owners/museums/model companies - and books like these - not doing their research properly. Hi Mike, I'm not surprised at all. I still have to see correct Czech reference on any softskin, or decent at least. In fact with the book on Tillies the only contribution of the author(s) is those wrong colour profiles. All the rest: contemporary pics, pics of the restored vehicles, sketches from the manuals, etc. are not new and are well known to those who is interested in this theme. Looking at the page samples previews, I have a feeling I'm browsing your site, the offending profiles apart. Cheers!
