Take time out for some comic relief, as Meng Model announces new kits for the World War Toons series.
  • WWT-003 German Heavy Tank King Tiger (Porsche Turret)
  • WWT-004 Soviet Heavy Tank KV-2
As with the previously released kits, these feature cartoony exteriors. Its snap-fit design does not require glue during assembly. Ideal for kids, beginners, and even for experienced modelers who would like to take time for a leisurely and relaxing build.

Once upon a time, there was a market for offbeat, oddly proprtioned subjects. It will always be. Let it roll: LINK

These look cool . I've already got a AFV Club "cute 'standard turret KV II , now I can get a little weirder big turret version from Meng . And a Tiger II

Swine Hunt, that memory is so old it has dust on it. I built it and most of Revell's distorted models way way way back in the day. I'm almost tempted to find one on ebay just for the sake of those memories.

I love the look of that Porsche King Tiger. So when are they doing the figures to go with it?

Not Meng's. The Tiger I and Sherman I've seen have its roadwheels roll much like the old Tamiyas with polycaps.

I was being facetious, but I do remember some obscure company ('60's or '70's ?) making 1/72-ish vehicles with solid tracks and roadwheels with little wheels underneath so you could roll them along the floor. Maybe that was Roco.

Meng's eggy ZTZ-99, aka New Chinese MBT, has little wheels to roll along the table top (not floor... that would be silly). They came in handy when painting the tracks as the model could be put down without the wet paint touching down. I took them off though in the end because they prevented the tracks from making contact with the base I mounted it on - which would have been most unrealistic.

Actually in my stash I have two old Lindburg kits copyright 1975 that have the rubberband motors and wheels. A Centurion and an M-46. I bought them in a box of kits at a yard sale years ago. Wayne
