The latest from the Panzershop catalog reveal two items, the first of which depicts this WWII-era Soviet heavy tractor.
Established in 1895, the Kharkiv Locomotive Factory (KhPZ) built about 20% of the Russian Empire's railway engines. Following the establishment of the Soviet government in Ukraine, the factory was tasked to design and build tractors, and by 1927, was assigned to develop tanks as well. Although tank design and development took priority by the Second World War, this however did not fully stop work on tractors, as evidenced by the development of the AT-42 and AT-45 at Plant No. 183. The AT-45 combined the modified hull and suspension of the T-34 tank with the loading platform of an earlier tractor, the Voroshilovets. With a winch force of 27 tons the AT-45 was able to tow loads weighing up to 22 tons.

Panzershop’s AT-45 Soviet WW2 Red Army Heavy Towing Vehicle (PS35C184) is a complete resin kit offered in 1/35 scale.

Background information on the vehicle sourced from Morozov.com, Papermodelers.com, and Wikipedia.

Another ugly -and interesting- beast of a kit! Wonder about the -undoubtedly- plentiful variants that were produced.

According to the info you can find here : http://strangernn.livejournal.com/992524.html it looks like only a few tractors (less than 10) were built before the project was cancelled... H.P.
