Come September, Fine Molds is to release its updated kit of this Imperial Japanese Army medium tank.

The Chi-nu was developed late in the Second World War. It mounted a 75mm main gun as an attempt to match the Sherman that has been growing in numbers at the frontlines. Production estimates are between 144 to 166 vehicles, and all were retained in Japan in anticipation of the invasion of the home islands. The Chi-nu however did not see combat.

Fine Molds will re-issue its IJA Type 3 Chi-nu Long Barreled Version (FM 29) to include new link-and-length tracks. A decal sheet depicting fictitious markings will be included as well. At completion, the model’s dimensions are: 211mm in length and 67mm in width.
