Dragon Models Limited have announced two new releases. The first (which is presented as a simple photo-report) is a new variant on an existing subject, the second is a COMPLETELY new departure...
For Axis modellers, one of the most welcome series of vehicles was the 8-wheeled 234 series, now, DML have announced the latest 'variant':
DRA6257 - Sd.Kfz 234/3: Schwerer Panzerspähwagen (7.5cm)
Photos can be seen at the side.
However, the biggest news from DML (in both the literal and figurative sense) is this:
DRA 75001 - Sd.Kfz.2 Kleines Kettenkrad
This is not 1/35th or even 1/16th scale. It is going to be done in 1/6th scale. Here aree some of the details of it:
-Injection-molded hull with molded-on suspension arm details
-Side fenders and handrail molded in one piece with weld detail
-Side marker lamps with weld detail are finely reproduced
-Cooling tunnel with sharp bolt detail
-Blackout tailight recreated with correct detail
-Crisply detailed workable tracks are easy to assemble
-Road wheels and idler wheels with correct detail
-Display gauges correctly represented
-Driver's seat is workable with spring suspension
-Detailed gearbox with great detail
-Front and rear number plates with personalized registration numbers
-Front fork with weld and bolt detail
-Front fork springs accurately wound for extra strength
-Notek headlight with correct shape and detail
-Bosch headlamp realistically reproduced
-Engine cover with metal mesh
-Bonus heater and heating-lamps with fine detail
-6V battery with crisp detail is included as bonus
-Seat cushions are injection molded with detail
Not too big a subject in this scale, but the question remains - are we going to see suitable (injection-molded) figures from Dragon as well? Watch this space!
