Fine Engraving Blades

Engraving to emphasize details such as panel lines, or even add custom detail is a popular advanced modeling method. Tamiya makes this advanced modeling technique easy with its line-up of engraving blades. These fine engraving blades are made from tungsten carbide, and offer a smooth, consistent finish.

They are available in a choice of 4 thicknesses to meet your modeling needs:
  • 74135 Fine Engraving Blade 0.1mm
  • 74136 Fine Engraving Blade 0.2mm
  • 74137 Fine Engraving Blade 0.3mm
  • 74138 Fine Engraving Blade 0.5mm
Item Contents / Information:
  • Fine Engraving Blade x1
  • Total length: 25mm. Shank diameter: 2mm.
  • Recommended for use with dedicated holder Item 74139 Engraving Blade Holder. Also, compatible with Fine Pin Vise D (Item 74050) and D-R (Item 74112).
  • Simply hold at a 45- to 60-degree angle and pull lightly across the surface to score it. Repeat as necessary to achieve a clearly-defined result.
  • Each blade comes in a case that can hold up to ten blades.
  • A color-coded marking on the shank allows easy identification of blade thickness.
Engraving Blade Holder (74139)

This is a lightweight, ergonomically designed holder for Tamiya’s line-up of Fine Engraving Blades. (Items 74135-38)

Item Contents / Information:
  • Engraving Blade Holder x1
  • Length: 126mm, diameter: 6mm.
  • Made from lightweight, durable aluminum, with a knurled grip section for error-free crafting. The chuck is made of nickel-plated brass.
  • The holder’s slimline form allows it to be held like a pen. Blade insertion and removal is simple – just lightly pinch the chuck and rotate the handle.
  • Comes with a protective cap that also stops the holder from rolling away.
  • Compatible with Fine Engraving Blades (Items 74135-38) and Design Knife Blades (Item 74074).
Base White (TS-101)

Painting light colors onto dark plastic always poses the risk of a compromised topcoat tone. This spray paint shade of Base White, which is a particularly solid shade of white, is specifically for use as an undercoat. With minimal layers it provides a superb base, even on dark plastic, ensuring true and clear topcoat tones. Can contents: 100ml

All the above have a general availability date of 20 January 2018.
