Meng Model joins the Bergepanther fray with the announcement of its Ausf. A kit.
Meng Model's German Armored Recovery Vehicle Sd.Kfz.179 Bergepanther Ausf. A (SS-015) contains a total of 1,143 parts. The design concept of Meng’s Panther series has been continued on this kit. It features realistic and movable dozer blade and crane. There are various options for the external details of the fighting compartment and the driver’s compartment.

As built, the model stands at 237mm in length and 98.6mm in width.

As I think everyone out there already knows I'm beyond thrilled that anyone has made a new Bergepanther and now THREE? Somehow I had not heard about RFM had one. So many options!

Not just three; Takom is doing an A and a D version so four new ones. So, Ausf D: Takom Ausf A: Meng, Takom Ausf G: Rye Field

Also, taking into consideration the boxart from Takom and the CAD render from Meng, there is a difference in the two Ausf. A models, as Takom seems to have an early version armed only with the MG, while Meng seems to have a version armed with the 20mm KwK 38 cannon

That's one solution: buy them all. I'd first like to see a build review or two -or better yet a comparison followed by a build review so that I can decide which I really want (okay, so I'll admit that I too want all three/four of them) Let's hope that they're all released some time soon!

Update: As of the end of July 2018 the Takom Ausf "D" and "A" kits are available from some on-line sites, while the Meng kit will be available soon from those same sites. While all three kits are wonderful additions, the two Ausf "A" kits are particularly exciting in terms of detail, with the Meng kit having an option or two extra and will be available for roughly 2/3 the cost of the Takom kit. Think that I'll start with the Meng kit and work my way up from there...

I have 2 TMD kits to build, one "used to complete" and not enough time to do all those interesting projects… And the other projects are as much interesting ! One good point, I plan to build them fully closed !
