Four new releases have been announced by DML for release in November. One will delight the the Axis AFV modelers, the other, those who model Allied and the third a very welcome release for those who work in Braille-Scale. The fourth should have some considerable appeal for many modelers.
Beginning with the more 'conventional' in the form of 1/35th scale Armor, the big news is undoubtedly, the latest variant of the Pz IV series with:

DRA 6363 - Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.G LAH Division, Kharkov 1943 (Smart Kit)

Features Include:

- Newly tooled Ausf.G turret made from 3-directional slide molds

- Turret reproduced with a split level at rear

- Newly tooled turret frontal armor and mantlet

- Newly tooled spare wheel rack with spare wheels

- Cleaning rods for Ausf.G provided with two options for different variants

- Detailed gun muzzle brake is newly tooled

- Newly designed hull top armor plating for Ausf.G

- New side fenders allow new arrangement of OVM for Ausf.G

- Two types of headlights are included as options

- New add-on armor on front upper hull

- New smoke grenade launcher

- New Cartograf decal offers various markings

For the Allied enthusiast - and in particular for the figure builder, come news of:

DRA 6390 - British 8th Army Infantry, El Alamein 1942

This FOUR-Figure set will be listed within their 39-45 series, it won't be released as a Gen II set but there are some significant points to be made. Firstly, that this is one of the most requested sets in 1/35th scale goes without saying. Secondly, it's a completely new set. Thirdly, the animation (at least going by the box-art) seems a little more 'active' than previous releases. Finally, and in this, i'm sticking my neck out a little here, the weaponry may well also be new, which going by what we've seen in recent sets will be 'Gen II Standard' indicating that (perhaps) more Commonwealth sets are on the horizon ?

Penultimately, for the 1/72nd scale 'Braille-Scalers' comes:

DRA 7324 - M2A3 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV)

Features Include:

- CITV reproduced with slide-mold technology

- Newly tooled extra armor plates on turret top

- New “doghouse” door can be assembled open/closed

- New GPS antenna added to bustle rack

- EPLR antenna base finely reproduced

- Extra armor around driver’s hatch represents M2A3 Bradley

- OVM arrangement designed for M2A3 Bradley

- New turret bottom plate reproduced in great detail

- Rear ramp can be assembled open/closed

- Photo-etched parts for ERA mounting frames

- DS tracks

Finally, in a somewhat 'Newer' scale for model kits, comes:

DRA 75002 - 3.7cm PaK 36

Scheduled for release in October, this is Dragon's second 1/6th scale kit and amongst the features offers:

- 3.7cm PaK has dimensions of 46cm x 48cm (in combat mode)

- Gun cradle is movable

- 3.7cm PaK can be assembled in travel or combat modes

- Movable gun mount allows gun to traverse and elevate/depress

- Gun shield is true to scale – can be folded up or down realistically

- Movable gun breech can be displayed open or closed

- Bonus ammunition and ammo box for 3.7cm PaK

More information on these FUTURE releases will be posted as it becomes available..

Delighted to see the 8th Army Infantry. Didn't think we'd see any Britsh from DML this year and very happy to be wrong. Now, how many combinations can I make from these guys lol, lol, a couple of sets should do to start Excellent and long overdue IMHO. Al

I almost bought the Bronco Humber scout just to get the early version of the Tommy Gun that's in the 8th Army set. There has been some talk of dissappointment with the poses But I'm happy with them and when I get my hands on them they're going straight to the workbench not into the stash.

Hi Pat, There should be some mileage in these chaps. Good to see an officer figure and the Thompson with the drum mag. I had to loook twice to ensure I wasn't seing things, lol, lol Have fun when they arrive. Al

If the poses are half as good as the boxart (not holdimng my breath here), these will big sellers for Dragon, I already have a couple ideas which means buying more than one set SWMBO won't be happy but I think, she understand.

I,m just happy to get more Allied figures. Hopefully this is the beginning of a trend!

Like Pat one thing that interested me about the Humber scout car was the early Thompson, which this kit also has. Cheers to DML for coming out with a very highly requested item. Finally something to replace resin or decades old Tamiya offerings. I'm really torn on the poses. They seem to be neither fish nor fowl as they aren't really really poses, but neither are they fighting poses. The one thing that can be said for them is that they at least all work together as one, unlike some kits where one guy is always doing something totally out of character with the other three. If DML comes out with just one Allied kit every six months I'll be happy.

You know all armies are really like that

Really happy to see an Allied figure set from Dragon. I like the 2 guys kneeling down, the one advancing with bayonet - meh, too similar to figures in the Airfix and Tamiya 8th Army sets. But still, British figures!!! How about some Indian infantry next Mr DML? Please?

Not going to happen - no mainstream manufacturer is EVER going to do figures of this type unless they've got some economic death-wish... Alternatively, take a look thru the Hornet heads catalogue and see what you can adapt or convert. Take a look at the bald head sets and figure out how to add a turban... With this set, the figures are there for the Desert, for Early-War in the Far-East and with some minor adaptation, Italy, or later war Far-East... Perhaps the set's a lot more flexible than you could imagine?
