After releasing Leopard C2 MEXAS, MENG announced canvas cover resin upgrade for their kit.
In response to the harsh operational environment in Afghanistan, the Canadian Army equipped their Leopard C2 main battle tanks with a distinctive canvas cover. The huge canvas cover protects the various precision components on the top of the turret and the hull from the dust and large temperature differences. The texture that is obviously different from the armor brings more unique features to the model.

This SPS-066 Canadian Main Battle Tank Leopard C2 MEXAS Sand-Proof Canvas Cover is the latest resin product from MENG. This kit contains 6 parts with outstanding details. It’s a perfect addition to the TS-041 Canadian Main Battle Tank Leopard C2 MEXAS w/Dozer Blade model kit.

Life is too short to go that route. I'd rather have a good-looking shortcut. [/quote] Same here Bill, my precious bench time is worth more than whatever they will charge for that part (within reason of course). I would gladly buy it.

There is a set already available from Panzer Art (and yes, it includes all the necessary parts, not just the turret ones shown in their promo photos). The question is if the Meng one will be better or cheaper?

I'm not against it at all chaps and probably will probably have one, after I've tried and failed with a homemade one...

I look forward to seeing it Paul, I did not mean to sound like people shouldn't do there own, only that I wish I had more time myself. Scratch building is actually one of my favorite parts of the hobby.

Meng's resin items are quite expensive. Dan

But the thermal cover set from Panzerart is for the Takom kit.

As a Canadian I'm thrilled that someone is offering this kind of accessory for something as off-the-wall as a Canadian Leo variant!

Me too, but why not some cold war troops with C1s, C2s and Carl Gs

Ok, this item is now on preorder at hobbyeasy, my “go to” internet shop, & is a dollar more expensive than the kit itself is, ie $51NZ against $50 for the vehicle. To me, and your preference will differ, this falls outside the bounds of reason. Especially given the fact that Meng are missing a part, to boot.
