The New enthusiasts’ manual from Haynes inspects the universal armoured car: the Panhard AML and Eland

The Panhard AML and Eland is the latest modern armoured fighting vehicle to receive the Haynes treatment. The book is fully illustrated with archive images, technical drawings and detailed photography and includes rare insights into the recovery and restoration of a Panhard AML to running order by the French Army Re-enactment Group.

Speaking about the Panhard Armoured Car Enthusiasts’ Manual, author Simon Dustan says: “The AML has seen extensive combat in virtually all of the wars in Africa and the Middle East since 1961 including the war on ISIS in 2016. It also fought on the side of the Argentinians during the Falklands War in 1982.

“As an armoured car enthusiast, I was excited to finally give the Panhard AML and Eland the full Haynes treatment. Excitingly, the centrepiece of this manual is the French Army Re-enactment Group’s Panhard AML 60 and 90 vehicles, which have been fully restored to running condition.”
