1⁄72

Firstly, my thanks to whoever noticed this and posted it on the Forums. This report covers two releases, significant enough on their own, but with the news that DML are now doing figures in 1/72nd scale, the story takes on a different dimension.
The last few years have seen some very significant releases in 1/72nd scale AFVs. There inevitably remain some serious gaps but in general, Braille-Scale, seems to be in a good state of health.
However, what HAS been marked by their absence, have been good, injection-moulded (hard styrene) figures in 1/72nd scale. There are a number of figure-sets available in 'soft' plastic, but these are not the easiest to paint or convert.
Now, in the first of two New releases in this report, Dragon Models have announced:
DRA 7361 - 3rd FJ Division (German Paratroopers) Figures Set with Kingtiger (Henschel Turret) Tank
Some (company-supplied) Details:
- Fully detailed figure set with vivid poses in 1/72 scale
- Head, facial expression and clothes details carefully sculpted
- Weapons like Kar98k, G43, MP40, MP44 and MG42 all reproduced with exquisite detail in 1/72 scale
- Standard equipment like water bottles, canteens and pistol pouches realistically reproduced
Also announced, with images provided by the company, is:
DRA 7332 - M6A2 Bradley 'Linebacker' IFV This is the Air-Defense version of the Bradley.
Company supplied details include:
- Newly tooled four-tube FIM-92A Stinger launcher with photo-etched parts to upgrade details
- FIM-92A Stinger launcher can be assembled in different positions
- Turret bottom plate reproduced in great detail
- OVM arrangement for M6A2
- Sharply detailed side armor
- Rear ramp can be assembled open or closed
- DS track with fine detail
Our thanks to DML for providing the images.
