Announced back in february, at Nuremberg, here are some images of Tamiya's (imminent) release of the Opel Blitz in 1/35th scale.
35291 - German 3Ton 4x2 Cargo Truck is NOT to be confused with the earlier re-box of the Italeri kit. This is a totally new-moulding/tooling.

I've just got hold of some of the images of the sprues, instructions and added in a photo I took at Nuremberg.

Regarding the 'naming' of the kit, it's an Opel Blitz. Once again, the 'copyright' of the German truck and car manufacturer has stopped Tamiya using the 'Opel' logo (soon to be released from Aber).

Also included is a set of Tamiya's oil-drums and jerrycans.

Hopefully, with this Tamiya will take the Blitz further and do a series of conversions such as the Radio vehicle. If previous form is anything to go buy, look to the AM manufacurers..

I think you may be onto something - I saw that as well and my eyebrows had to be unpeeled from the ceiling

After talking to Mr. Google for a while I'm sure it has nothing to do with snipers... The unit is 69. Schutzen-Regiment (motorized) attached to 10. Panzer-Division in April 1940. In the middle of May 1940 it was involved in the Battle of Stonne in France. http://www.geocities.com/mdx.geo/regiment1e.html (about a half way thru)

looks like a really good kit ...and I agree....very timely ....I think I "need " to buy this kit and stick a likely looking flackgun on back......(love sticking those flackguns on trucks.....)

Has anyone received their's yet? I think I would have preferred the later war 4 x 4 version, or at least the military standard 8 lug wheels. It does look good though, guess I'll have to get one.

Hey All, I have the Kit half Built, the wheels are plastic, but I replaced them with late version ones and put the kit ones on another Blitz. As for the grill, it’s not open, and comes complete, too bad, there is no logo in the kit, but I had on lying around form phot edge set. I got my kit form Lucky Models, all in all a nice kit, but most of my Opel fleet is still Itareli which is still a good kit. Ed

I saw the kit at Torcan and it looks pretty good....nice delicate detail...would have picked it up there but there were no deals on it and I already had a budget....

Hey Everyone, About the pin marks on the rear bed panel, fear not. We have a laser cut, real wood bed replacement kit in the works. I personally have been waiting for this one, it does look good. Keep an eye out in the next few weeks. Brian James- pfa-productions.com

Short of moulding it in two very thin halves I think it was probably unavoidable, I do sometimes wonder though why the ejector pin contact points can't be incorporated into the sprue alongside the actual parts...anyone know why?[/quote] I think it has to do with the size of the part. You do see the pins on the sprue for smaller pieces but it's possible that for larger pieces the pins are too far away to pop the center out of the mold and might even end up deforming the part.
