As known, Airfix Ltd. is working hard on their comeback. After some years of silence their range of 1:76 vehicles and AFV’s has been announced. It covers some very nice WW2 and post WW2 items.
As for now, the following models are mentioned on their site:

A02322 LWB Landrover (Soft Top) & Trailer 1:76
A02323 M113 U.S. ACAV 1:76
A02324 LWB Landrover (Hard Top) & Trailer 1:76
A02325 Saladin MkII Armoured Car 1:76
A02326 Bedford MK.4 Tonne Truck 1:76
A02327 M113 Fire Support Version 1:76
A02328 Saracen APC Mk 1/2/3 1:76
A02329 Bedford MK Tactical Aircraft Refueller 1:76
A02330 Vickers Light Tank 1:76
A02331 Landrover 1 Tonne FC Truck GS Bdy 1:76
A02332 Brit L118/US M119 105mm Light Gun 1:76
A02333 Landrover 1 Tonne FC Ambulance 1:76
A02334 Sherman Calliope Tank 1:76
A02335 Matilda "Hedgehog" 1:76
A04301 Churchill Bridge Layer 1:76

Interesting for 1:35 scale modellers is the following kit that can nicely be used on a industrial theme diorama.

Doesn't look like they are working very hard. The Hedgehog Matilda fired forward and not to the rear. The range is essentially the old JB range with rehashes/modified of the original range. It would be nice to see them actually redo some of these completely and accurately. A new range of British subjects would be nice. This is just the old reheats Cheers Al

Some very interesting stuff there - what a pity they are not in 1/35... Like M119 howitzer for example! Pawel

Damn Pawel! You beat me to saying wish these were 1/35

I doubt Airfix (or rather Hornby) are going to sweat the accuracy of these kits. According to the LHS these kits sell (rather well), and they sell to an audience that knows (or even cares..) little about the actual vehicle that they are modelling. What we should hope, and encourage, is that those who buy these kits, pick up a wider interest in our hobby, and come back for more. Henk

That's exactly how I came into the hobby, I must have built everything in the Airfix armour range between 1972 and 1980. I converted the 1/76 Sherman into the Sexton, The M32, The Firefly Ic and the Kangaroo with pitty and plasticard. Happy days no etch no aftermarket and no real accuracy worries

Don't get me wrong- I am delighted to see these back but given I also cut my teeth on the Airfix range and played many a wargame with them, I'd love to see even one new kit of a brit Subject. i don't care that it is in 76th. Al

Maybe we should just wait for the company to get healthy again before we get all excited about new releases.

Personally I've got no problem with Airfix releasing this kind of stuff to aid it's recovery as a brand. What would be good for the future though is if they look to producing some stuff in 1/35 and maybe concentrate on some unkitted allied subjects. Although they are releasing a fair amount of new products in the coming months, the only truly new kits are aimed at either aircraft modellers or are TV tie-ins such as Dr Who. I think if Airfix went out on a limb they could really capture the market with a range of British WW2 subjects or even WW1.

WW1 definitely. I've been waiting for so long to come across at 1:76 WW1 Mk I (which really is a Mk II) - fingers crossed this will get released in the future.
