Today, totally unsolicited, I received a copy of the new Dragon Catalog. Many of the products have been already announced, others may come as as pleasant surprise...
Firstly, dealing with figure releases, it seems as if Dragon are continuing with their range as before with these significant new releases:
In the modern figure series:
3313: Marine Recon
3316: U.S. Navy SEALs II
In WWII figures:
6192 Stug Crew Reloading (Russia 1941)
6194 Panzergrenadiers, Wiking Division (Hungary 1945)
6196 German Anti-Tank Team (France 1940)
6197 Soviet Infantry Tank Riders
6198 U.S. Support Weapon Teams ( 60mm mortar, bazooka and .30 calibre MG)
6199 2nd S.A.S. Regiment (France 1944)
6211 U.S. 29th Infantry Division (Omaha Beach) D-Day
6212 British Infantry Normandy 1944
6213 German Command Staff
6214 Panzer Crew, LAH Division (Russia 1943)
6215 Fallschirmjager 8cm Mortar Team (Italy 1944)
6218 German 1st Cavalry Division (Russia 1941)
In 1/35th scale armor, few surprises. I have already listed the new releases in a previous news item. However, several items are worth a mention:
6181 Is the 54cm Self-Propelled Morser 'Loki' Gerat 041
6183 Is the M4A3E8 'Thunderbolt IV'
6185 Is a captured T34/76
No less than FOUR variants of the the M1 Abrams MBT are listed in 1/35th. These are:
3531 USMC M1A1
3533 M1A1(HA), 1st Marine Tank Battalion (Baghdad 2003)
3534 M1 Panther II
3535 M1A1 AIM
The Dragon 1/72nd scale armor range also seems to be expanding as well. Also amongst the new listings are no less than 3 versions of the AAV-7, 2 Bradleys (M2A2 and M3A2 ODS). One notable piece of news is the announcement by Dragon that they are producing 1/72nd scale Zimmerit paste. Quite how that will work I have no information as yet.....
In conclusion, some nice new releases although as always, the Allied releases are outnumbered around ten to one by the German releases.....
