Mirage Hobby have supplied details of their eagerly awaited 1/72 scale M3 Lee and Grant tanks. The kits will feature fine surface details and the tracks are to be moulded in what Mirage are hailing as a new formula plastic. Added to this, each kit will feature an etched-metal fret.
The initial releases will be:

Kit 72801 - M3 General Lee Medium Tank, with the following decal options:

1. W-309513 - 1st Armd. Div., 13th Armd. Rgt. F Co. "Kentucky" at Souk Khemis/Djedeida 28 Nov. 1942. First was the type's first combat use.
2. s/n unknown - 2nd Armd. Div., Training in Fort Benning Feb. 1942
3. W-309689 - 1st Armd. Div., "Baby Boy", Training in Northern Ireland in Summer 1942
4. s/n unknown - 1st Armd. Div., 13th Armd. Rgt., Kasserine 20th Feb. 1943.
5. W-309316 - 1st Armd. Div., 13th Armd. Rgt., "After Effect", Bizerte May1943.
6. s/n unknown - 193rd Tank Bn., Baturitari Isl., Makin Atoll, Supporting 27th Inf.Div. November 1943. This was the last combat use of US M3 Medium Tank.

Also included are are bonus set of decals for 13th Armd Rgt, tactical signs, 1942.

72804 - Grant Mk I, with the following decal options:

1. T-24??? - 1st Sqdn, Queens Bays, 2nd Armd. Bde., 1st Armd Div., El Alamein 8th Aug. 1942.
2. T-23532 -US Army instructors, 1st RTR, Battle of El Ghazala 11th Jun. 1942. The movie "Sahara" (1943) was inspired by their story.
3. T-24210 - Unidentified British Unit, Western Desert Spring/Summmer 1942
4. T-24516 - Scots Greys, 4th Armd. Bde. 7th Armd. Div. El Alamein 16th Sep. 1942.

The bonus set of decals this time are for British Armoured Divisions in 1942. These include insignia, Arm of Service signs and squadron insignia.
