Too bad for them that AFV club is releasing one too. Unless theirs is a different variant? Thanks for the news. SCOTT

No, it isn't. This particular release is the Mk.IV turret (with Petard Launcher) which means that it will convert the Churchill Mk. III to the more commonly seen (and better documented) Mk. IV AVRE. AFV Club announced the Mk. III AVRE

Hi Guys, This looks like an excellent update for the AVRE Mk IV. I used one of the older Resicast Conversion sets on the old Tamiya Kit and of all the 3 manufacturers who produced turrets at that time the Resicast version was the closest to the correct shape and length: see here: http://perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/legend/lf1063r1.htm As this New version comes with a basic interior I would expect it to be of the same high standard as the previous one (now OOP) offering as Jim says a conversion for the more common Mk IV. I am not sure at this stage if it will also come with additional fittings as the older set did but these may not be necessary as they will be provided in the AFV AVRE kit. as standard. I had a lot of fun doing this one with the older set and look forward to more AVRE options both from AFV and Resicast. The engine looks grand too and an option for alternative tracks is always welcome. Something else to look forward to around February will be the 35.1204 ARK Mk I for AFV Club Churchill. After all these years in the wilderness looks like this famous old vehicle is finally getting the recogition it deserves. Link to item http://www.resicast.com/pages/churchillpag.html Al

What great news, i love resicast's stuff and Graham is a top man when it comes to customer service. I like the look of the MkIV AVRE very much and the engine bay is a great looking piece too..there's me all happy then Al tells us there's a ARK MkI on the way too! look at me I'm Dancing .. may seem a bit OTT but I love the way the Churchill looks and to have new kits and conversions of this most characterful tank is Great News.

Hi Paul, It wasn't until after I started the AVRE I really got an interest in the vehicle. I'd always liked the engineering vehicles, but have since grown a liking for the Gun Tank too. Al

One of the more attractive aspects of the new turret, is undoubtedly the fact its a hollow casting - the (later, reworked) Legend one was dimensionally VERY good, but was a solid casting... At least for some basic interior additions it should be excellent...

I have added some photos to the news item that show how much interior detail Resicast have included in the turret.
