I think it depends on their age. Some of the older ones are a little on the small side, and softly detailed. The newer ones have improved greatly. ICM figure were also available as 4 packs from Revell. I would say their quality falls somewhere between Tamiya and MiniArt. I am pretty happy with them.

I've built some of ICM's 1:48 figures and they blew me away. For plastic figures at that scale they were incredibly detailed and looked very crisp with sharp detail and definition. The anatomy was also very good. Never made any of their 1:35 but if the 1:48 are anything to go by I'd definitely recommend them. I've been considering using some of their Modern Soviet Troops in Afghanistan but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Hi I've a couple of figure sets from ICM and think they are nice quality. I'd agree with the comment they are somewhere between Tamiya and Miniart for detail. Closer to Tamiya for size, as Miniart figures tend to be on the larger size of 1/35th scale. It's true that many of the Tamiya releases we've seen recently, certainly most of the ones which have figure sets added to older kits as "new releases" are ICM figures added to older Tamiya vehicle, tanks etc. But having said that not every one of Tamiya's recent ones use ICM figures. The recent DAK Kubelwagen release with figures I understand is all Tamiya. I also have the Russian Tank figures that was mentioned previously and a set of Panzer Crew escaping their tank, some injured and found both sets went together fine with no fit issues at all. Modellers really can't complain about model companies not coming out with new releases, we seem to have an almost weekly announcement of new kits appearing these days. Alan

Add in the Resin manufacturers and it's probably every day The model companies are doing a great job - it may be a cliché but they are genuinely releasing or announcing future releases for EVERYONE at the moment All of the 'majors' can truly be pleased with themselves - they're now catering for what were seen as 'minority' interests. More choice than EVER before (or imagined).

ICM figures (at least the older kits) are hit and miss at best. The WWI British and German figure sets are outstanding in crispness and detail while the molding of the French and German sets from their "Franco/Prussian War" series is soft and these kits really need a lot of work to look half decent. I really like the "Operation Barbarossa" set which has an EXCELLENT German officer figure included. The newer ICM kits are definitely an improvement over the older kits. The "May 1945" set is very nice as well as the German Patrol set which includes 2 Feldgendarmes, an officer figure and a shoeshine boy. If the quality of the new Soviet Medical Personnel kit is up to the standards of ICM's latest releases (and there is no reason to believe that it won't) it will be a nice addition to any collection. It looks very interesting and I'm going to get it. Jeff

That's actually an excellent summation. My personal favorite is 'May 1945' that really is one of the best sets ANYONE has released in the last few years. On the other hand, some of their other sets, while workable and workmanlike, are not particularly innovative. This new set looks as if its got REAL possibilities. A curious thought just struck me, I get the feeling that ICM are more 'comfortable' with Russian sets rather than Axis. It's like DML in reverse - DML are superb with German subjects, whereas frequently they put 95% into Allied subjects. Not that they're 'bad' just sometimes it seems they put more TLC into areas such as Sd.Kfz 7s than into M3 H/Ts...

My main reason for asking is I like the look of this product, I however have always been wary of buying kits from companies I don't have knowledge of. It is one of the best features of sites such as this that allow the end user to gain knowleddge of a producers items and quality that they may have avoided due to concerns over quality, buildability, and so on.

...Good to know as I have never built anything from ICM. In fact I thought ICM was short for 'International Cheese Maker' Just goes to show how little I know:-) Anyway, what I'd really like to know is how do their figures stack up scale wise? I am half way through a 150 figure diorama (yes 150) and am using figures from loads of suppliers but a lot of Verlinden figures are scaling out as too big to use next to my mostly Dragon guys. Some are fine, some are not and Resin Nation comes in too small, Arrrgh, So my issue is how are these ICM figures for scale compatability? Thanks for any help.
