Vulcan Scale Models, who brought out a 2-Pounder AT Gun, have, after a gap of a number of months, just announced a crew for it.
The New figure set is:
56002: British 2 Pounder Gun Crew - North Africa
The new figure set is 1/35th scale and moulded in styrene.
Welcome though ANY New British/Commonwealth set is, there are a couple of comments which are worth considering. Much as I dislike (intensely) the 'instant' Reviews based on a single photo, it does look as if it's a crew 'going by the book' and flies a little in the face of the archive images of gun crews of this period.
How shall I put it? A little too 'official' in their uniforms? In the Western Desert, while there was still strong discipline, there was a lot more 'flexibility' in the dress codes.
This set is welcome, very welcome, it's a pity though that Vulcan didn't go for a set which reflected this informality of dress a bit more.
