Pelican cases are a trademarked commercial case that is airtight, waterproof, nearly indestructable. Industry uses them for storage and transport of electronic test equipment, photographic equipment and just about anything else that needs to be protected from the elements when not in use. I don't know of any military uses, but wouldn't be at all suprised if they weren't widely used. A large one would be just about perfect to transport a sniper rifle so the optics don't get bounced out of alignment.

yes, we do use them to carry weapons. A lot of the guys use them personally to carry thier personal lap tops, cameras, and such overseas.

Good looking cases, would be very handy for some dioramas. From my experience we never carried the cases out on missions because of the bulky size of them. We used soft cases whenever we could and for some items like PAS-13 and other weapon system add-ons, we just had them attached where they are used. Mike
