Again, my thought is, nice kit, even though the Italeri was never that bad. How about doing the 3 inch gun off of it?

I have never been one for running out and getting the latest and greatest, but I sure am glad I have not shelled out the $$$ for dragon kit, because this kit looks outstanding. As Redleg said one can never have to much artillery. Now where the hell is that Happydance emoticon?

This is good looking, and has my interest. Can the rubbermade tires be used for storage?

What I would really like is to see an M1A1 75mm Howitzer. I know there's one by Vision Models (I even tried to build it) but was just not at a standard of molding I liked so I put the thing away. I know AFV advertised one but would love to actually see it out. Rob

OK.....let us look at artillery derivations....now I will grant you the 105mm was the most prolific artillery in WWII but,,,,,, If you have the M2 105mm the same kit with very minor changes makes the M2A1. If the sprues were done right a couple of part changes makes the M101A1 (similar to what Trumpeter did with the M198 kits) Now....A small add on sprue and presto, you have the 3 inch gun...a whole brand new kit...never produced before. Now....make a whole new kit of the M1A1 75mm.....now with a new barrel and a few additions....you have the 4.2 inch howatar used in Vietnam OK....make a sprue of the M3 carriage and add the sprue from the M1A1.....you have the M3 75mm howitzer.....now change the barrel and use the 105mm set....you have the M3 Mountain howitzer. 7 different kits with a little more work........the M2A1 is the latest every manufacture has one.....lets see if AFV makes as good a use of it as Dragon has!! Rounds Complete!!

Couldn't agree more, Rob. I've been waiting patiently ever since AFV put it on their "coming soon" list. I've already got my dio material all stacked and ready to go...only need that Pack to get rolling on it. That said, however, I will definitely pick up a few of AFV's 105's. Wasn't the 4.2" used in WWII as well? Or is that a different mount as it was the same carriage as the 155mm field howitzer.

Yep....the 4.2 was used in WWII....but not like this LINK The M98 Howtar was a USMC special!! Rounds Complete!!
