For several years now, there has benn a slow (but steady) trickle of good models of French armor subjects. As many of the vehicles were seen in German service, this has, naturally enough, help to boost their interest. Parallel to this, the French publisher, Editions du Barbotin has been producing a variety of superb reference material.
Two new reference publications have just been announced by Editions du Barbotin - both in a similar format and each covering attractive modeling subjects.

The first of these is the latest in the publisher's 'Focus' series:

Focus Nş 7 - Renault R35

Following the usual format in this series, the book gives a concise overview of the vehicle's history, Scale Plans, several pages of Walkrounds and a number of pages of color profles.

Available directly from the publisher for 9.95 euros

The second title released is tending towards the more specialized - but no less interesting:

Trackstory Nş 12 - The Citroën Kegresse Machine Gun Carriers

From the publisher's website:

At the very beginning of the 20th century, Adolphe Kégresse was the manager of the Russian Tsar's automobile garages, and it was in the service of the latter that he came up with the idea of a flexible track and drive system that led to a successful career spanning almost forty years. As soon as the First World War came to an end, the engineer Kégresse fled the Russian revolution and joined forces with Hinstin and Citroën. The great expeditions across the Sahara and the Far East were undertaken with Citroën vehicles. The French Army showed an interest and purchased in great numbers the P17 and P19 half-tracks to tow the famous 75 mm guns, or in order to mechanise the cavalry. The Kégresse drive systems were also mounted on an entire family of armoured vehicles, including the many armoured cars that are studied in this publication.

The book has 64 pages 12 pages of color profiles and numerous contemporary photos (80& of which have never been previously published)

I have picked up several of these books as well as the Trackstory books. They´re pretty nice as well as being good reference for the relevant French kits that have been released/available. Lets hope that a modern release of the R35 makes this book worth getting as well!!
