There are two new Dragon releases this week - both armor related and both previously announced however, up until now, no images were available....
Both of the new releases are of German subjects and the armor kit strikes me as being a 're-work' of an older model...
The two new releases are as follows:
6232 - 1/35 Late Production Kingtiger (Battle of Bulge)
As can be seen from the images, there has been some very serious work on the running gear, the provision of a metal barrel - something which is becoming 'standard' with DML. One of the selling points is 'new track' which seems to be seperate link.. Also included, is brass ammunition - as late in the war, the Germans had quite a number of artillery/A.T. rounds in aluminium, this seems rather self defeating... There are also metal cables, revised gun mantlets, photo-etch and 4 figures of Volksgrenadier included.
Moving onto the figure release,
6214 - Panzer Crew LAH Division Russia 1943 These figures from the 1st SS PD. Liebstandarte 'Adolf Hitler' comprise 5 figures in some nicely relaxed poses. If the figures are anything like as good as the photos, they will really be something special - the quality of these Dragon releases is improving by leaps and bounds - due I suspect, in no small part to the extraordinary quality of the TriStar 1/35 figure sets...
Update - 12/16/2004
Updated today and with the first images are:
6185 - T-34/76 German Army (1/35th Scale)
7250 - Sd.Kfz. 186 Jagdtiger Porsche Version (1/72nd Scale)
