Another, albeit somewhat more obscure variant of the Sd.Kfz 10, has been announced by CyberHobby
The New release will be:

6709 - Sd.Kfz.10 w/3.7cm PaK 35/36

What should be significant (unless i've completely overlooked this) is the welcome release of a NEW Pak 35 in 1/35th scale.

This version sure looks new to me, but very interesting, though. Maybe the "normal" troopcarrier version is right around the corner..Yes Jacob

Would the gun's wheels be carried on the vehicle as well? Tom

This looks like a good Cyberhobby project, since this vehicle doesn't even show up in Spielberger's Haltracked Vehicles of the German Army 1909-1945. I realize Spielberger is far from exhaustive in the book, but this one seems like a real rarity. The problem with carrying the gun's wheels is: a.) stowage b.) getting gun on and off the vehicle Some kind of crane would be required. Perhaps a "Pilzen" crane on a tank? But mobility is why these guns were put on vehicles in the first place, so putting them back on the ground seems to be counter-productive.

I also notice this is kit 6709. On the Perth site, the latest DML update lists a kit 6686 as being a 3.7cm Pak 35/36 on the Sdkfz 10. I wonder if this is the same kit/release or if there is a second kit coming and what the differences would be.

Did a quick google search and came up with this pic. Can't see the wheels so maybe this vehicle has the same type of mount. LINK Then of course the pic of what I am sure inspired the kit. LINK And when are we going to see this one from Cyber Hobby LINK Roy

I think this is the same beast shown in three pictures in Chamberlain and Doyle's revised "Encylopedia of German Tanks of WW2", page 182, albeit showning one uparmoured version. One is linked in the previous message from Rolf, but the others are 'new'.

It's not surprising the Sd.Kfz. 10 ended up with a motley crew of guns on it. The Wehrmacht was overwhelmed with the speed at which armored warfare changed everything. Their early AT guns were too small, their troops were dependent on foot, horse and rail power, etc. And with a variety of obsolete or obsolescent AFVs like the Panzer I, it made sense to put artillery pieces on them. It sure beat horses! Over 14,000 Sd.Kfz. 10s were produced, I figure there must be other oddball combos in the photographic record. For one thing, the chassis of German half-tracks allowed the load bed to be removed cleanly and a different platform to be added (gun instead of passenger seats). This is a solid kit IMO, just look at how quickly the DML kit already released (reviewed here) has jumped onto the Top 20 reviews in less than a week. It's been a long time since the Italeri base kit, so there's a lot of pent-up demand for a good Sd.Kfz.10, and there are several interesting variants they can tap into (think CH will do the D/2 chemical decontamination platform?).

I agree, there is so much that Dragon/Cyber Hobby could do with this kit. It is sure money in the bank now that the basic molds have been done. Here is looking to a long line of Sd.Kfz. 10s (but I really just want the tractor version). Roy
