As one of the many who receive the newsletter from LuckyModel and who has also seen the post by Raymond Cheung of the same company, this is I believe is a story which is worth posting in the news section...
First of all, by means of an introduction, LuckyModels is a Hong-Kong based internet hobby store. Along with several others such as TriStar, HobbyLink (Japan), Rainbow 10 and various others, they offer the chance to purchase models and materials at prices which are (in general) much lower than thise available in the U.S.A. or Europe.

The major perceived drawback to this shopping has been the cost of postage. Now LuckyModel has announced a new mailing system which could cut mailing rates considerably. Recently, they signed an agreement with International Mail Services House and Postal Offices which will facilitate their mail and more importantly have a direct effect on the cost for the customer..

So how does this work?

Previously, there were three distinct forms of shipping - Air Mail, Surface Mail and 'Speed' (Courier) Mail. Now LuckyModel are offering a 'flat rate' postal service by AIR which means that you can combine several items into a package which weighs up to 2 Kilos (4.4 pounds) with an estimated saving in postage of up to 45% on mailing costs....

Also announced on the LuckyModels Website is a large 'sale' of over 600 items from the following manufacturers: Tamiya, Academy, Italeri and Revell - well worth a look!

Pleae remember, when contacting retailers or producers, to mention that you saw their products or services highlighted here - on ARMORAMA
