The author, David Doyle, has just mailed me with details of his latest book from Squadron Signal Publications.
The new book is:
SS5902 - K5(E) Railgun Detail in Action
Quoting from the publisher's press release:
The German K5(E) 280mm railgun is arguably the most effective weapon of its type ever developed. Boasting an 11-mile range, the 24 massive guns of this type were deployed from Italy to the Russian Front, and even along the English Channel Coast. Today, only two of these fearsome artillery pieces remain. Through a collection of 55 vintage black and white photos - many of them previously unpublished - and more than 170 photos of the two preserved examples in the US and France, the intricacies of these massive weapons are explored in detail. In addition, the book is augmented by nine illustrations.
Considering it's a fairly well-covered subject in various scales, should be a popular subject...
My thanks to David for the Update!
