So David, if I understand you correctly that one chassis without heater port and steel road wheels has become a Tiger commanded by Alfred Kurzmaul, right? BTW, the box art of the new release depicts a vehicle in markings of sPzAbt 507, why then it has a three tone camo if, according to photos, Bison decal set and Schneider,Tigers of this unit had two-tone scheme consisting of dunkelgelb base color and wide rotbraun stripes - an exception? Oh, and what's the difference between the two types of idlers included (can't see it on CAD images)

As far as I know, that painting of "411" was based on two photos. I can see nothing in those two photos to suggest the presence of a travel lock. David

No, I would ask for the heater port to be included in that kit if I were advising on it today. I didn't advise on the colour schemes in this kit; I rarely do. But it seems to me that there was more than one style of camouflage used in s.Pz.Abt. 507. I believe this tank has 3 colours, for example. One is the original 700mm idler, and the other is the 600mm idler. David

Yes, those are the ones. I don't see any reason to suppose that a travel lock was ever on that vehicle. It has a headlight above the driver's position; this dates the hull to October '43 or earlier, whereas the lock was introduced in November. David

Here, here! I've been waiting patiently for the version with Feifel air filters. My hopes were raised with CH's "Tiger I DAK 501" version - but as I want to depict one as it appeared at Kursk that wouldn't be the right kit. Most of the parts are there already, though ... ! ! !

HOLD THE FRONT PAGE!!! This is such exciting news that I feel like I'm about to give birth to a litter of cute & fluffy baby pandas!! I can barely contain my excitement here!!! I'm doing cartwheels down the street and the neighbours think I've lost my marbles!!! By which I mean those other neighbours - not the ones who thought that that I'd come down with a bad case of rabies when they saw me out in the street earlier this afternoon, frothing at the mouth and all a-quiver in my sheer excitement at this groundbreaking release. A TIGER WITH A TRAVEL LOCK IN A SLIGHTLY UNUSUAL POSITION!!!! This is simply unreal. All my prayers have been answered!!! And there I was worrying that DML had completely lost the plot after venturing out of their comfort zone by releasing that natty little Japanese amphibious tank that had never been kitted before. I was worried to the point of insomnia that they were going to start doing all manner of crazy things like releasing more Japanese machines, or a cracking new line of post-war French armour that nobody in their right mind would possibly want to buy (the AMX series for instance. Or an Indochina Chaffee - the very thought of such horrors makes me shudder and come over all peculiar). Or even that they'd launch a neat new range of Cold War Soviet stuff which - again - no "serious" modeller would possibly have an interest in and which would thus inevitably be left to gather dust by the pallet-load in warehouses and LHS's across the globe. Because after all - as the economic geniuses among us are constantly at pains to remind us - DML are only going to be interested in releasing products that would sell. But NO!!! Fear not!! Because normal service has been resumed with yet another "spot the difference" Tiger I. Break out the Jentz & Doyles - for all is once again well with the world. - Steve
